Personal Journey

For I know the plans I have for you”
—this is the Lord’s declaration—
“plans for your welfare, not for disaster,
to give you a future and a hope."

Jeremiah 29:11

Ms. Smith is the mother of two young adults. As mother of a child with a catastrophic traumatic brain injury and a child with an incomplete spinal cord injury from a 2005 automobile accident, Ms. Smith is learning first-hand what it means in Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." Ms. Smith's paths now include using her legal, Collaborative and mediation skills and training to navigate medical, legal, educational, and employment systems to locate resources and services for her children and others who have been injured, such as:

Academic

Therapeutic

Social

Ms. Smith knows how life can change in an instant and that recovery from a traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury or any bodily injury may take a lifetime, but she and her family are sustained day-by-day through God's grace on their life's journey.
